ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – For three-of-the-five Flagler College fall athletics teams, the season begins at the end of this week. The volleyball and men's soccer team, both preseason favorites in the Peach Belt Conference, will open at tournaments held at Lees-McRae College while the women's soccer team also hits the road to play at the Queens University of Charlotte Tournament.
The volleyball team is coming off a 36-9 record last year, 13-1 in the conference, and a NCAA Division II semifinal appearance. 2009 Peach Belt Coach of the Year Taylor Mott and her team will open the season Sept. 3 vs. Coker College at 1 p.m. and then take on conference-rival USC Aiken at 7 p.m. to open the Carolinas Challenge. The tournament wraps up on Sept. 4 in a re-match of the regional final, vs. Wingate at 1 p.m. and then a re-match of a regional quarterfinal against the host, Lees-McRae, at 5:30 p.m.
You can follow all of the matches with live stats on flaglerathletics.com. The first three matches will be provided by Flagler sports information and the final brought to you by Lees-McRae.
