ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The 46th-ranked Flagler College women's tennis opened the 2010 campaign with a convincing 7-2 win over 28th-ranked Saint Leo University in a non-conference match Sunday afternoon at the Flagler Tennis Center.

Saint Leo fell to 1-2 on the season.

Flagler earned the first two of three possible points in doubles play. Chelsea Taylor (Bradenton, Fla./Bradenton Prep Academy) and Roxane Alt (Montreaux, Switzerland/Lewis & Clark CC) blanked Saint Leo's Gina Schifano and Christine Clyne 8-0 at No. 2 doubles and the Flagler won by forfeit at No. 3 doubles.

Chelsi de Cuba (Fort Pierce, Fla./Vero Beach HS), Lauren Pfeiffer (Fort Pierce, Fla./Florida Gulf Coast U.) and Jennifer Saviano (Davie, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas HS) all won in straight sets in singles play.

Flagler is idle until Feb. 17 when it hosts Brandeis University at 2:30 p.m. at the Flagler Tennis Center.
