ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Shannon Singleton-Bates scored 17 of her game-high 25 points in the first half to help power 18th-ranked (USA TODAY/ESPN Division II Top 25) Francis Marion University past Flagler College 105-86 in a Peach Belt Conference East Division women's basketball game Wednesday night at Flagler Gym.

Francis Marion won its third game in a row and improved to 23-3 overall and 15-2 in the Peach Belt. Flagler fell to 8-18 overall and 3-14 in conference play. It was also “Senior Night” at Flagler Gym as Nicole Boone (Mountain Top, Pa./Luzerne County CC), Lauren Bailie (Loganville, Ga./Loganville HS), Jalisa Foster (St. Petersburg, Fla./Pinellas Park HS) and Karlyn Reddish (Keystone Heights, Fla./Keystone Heights HS) were all recognized before the game.

Eboni Fields added 17 points and made 4-of-8 from three-point range. Nicole Meeling tacked on 16 points and also drained four treys while Shana Franks came off the bench to add 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field. Tiahanna Bowens supplied 10 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots in a reserve role. Robin Colbert handed out a game-high 10 assists and Monica Mann added nine more as the Patriots broke the Peach Belt record for assists in a game with 35. The previous record was 34 by Augusta State in a game against Morris College Nov. 24, 2006.

Francis Marion shot a blistering 70.6% (24-34) from the field in the second half. The Patriots held a 48-28 advantage in points in the paint.

After a Reddish jumper got the Saints to within nine (69-60) with 13:30 to play, the Patriots answered with a 16-3 run over the next 3:33 to take control of the game.

Charlsea Owen (St. Augustine, Fla./Pedro Menendez HS) poured in a team-high 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field and 4-of-5 from three-point range. Foster added 13 points, a game-high eight rebounds and three steals while Jen Mitchell (Fort Myers, Fla./Cypress Lake HS) and Jen Knurek (Orlando, Fla./Lake Mary HS) each tallied 11 points coming off the bench.

Flagler concludes its regular season on the road against UNC Pembroke on Saturday (Feb. 27) at 1:30 p.m.
