Santo starred for the baseball team for three seasons (1983-85), before becoming the first Flagler baseball player selected in the Major League Baseball Draft. He was selected in the 19th Round by the Baltimore Orioles. Santo was a NAIA honorable mention All-American in 1984 and was the district player of the year. He holds several Flagler records including runs batted in in a game (11), batting average in a season (.449), hits in a season (101), home runs in a season (20), RBIs in a season (102), batting average in a career (.415), home runs in a career (41), and RBIs in a career (194). Santo is a member of Flagler baseball’s All-Decade team (1980s).
