Persson was a three-time NAIA All-American on the women’s tennis team. She played from 1987-90 and was a member of three national championship teams. In 1988, she captured the national women’s singles title. Persson was also half of the NAIA doubles champions in 1989 with fellow Hall of Famer Julie Went and in 1990 with Julie Downs.
